How Entries Are Awarded

The Four Seats

1st
Overall Points Champion
Awarded to the player with the highest combined score across all four quarters. A player's year score is the sum of their four quarter scores.
2nd
Tournament of Champions
6-player invitational on Championship Day. Participants are:
  • The 4 Quarter Champions
  • The highest overall points player not already earning a seat
  • The winner of the Last Chance tournament
Requires 12+ WSOP shares to be eligible.
3rd
3rd Seat Tournament
Follows the Tournament of Champions on Championship Day. No entry fee. Open only to players with the maximum 24 shares.
4th
Lucky Draw
Follows the 3rd Seat Tournament. Played pineapple style — discard one hole card after the flop, everyone all-in. Requires 24 shares. Must be present to play.
Share Program

How Shares Work

·
Players who wish to compete for WSOP entries pay an additional $10 per tournament entered ($10 = 1 share).
·
These funds accumulate into the WSOP pool, which is used to purchase the event entries.
·
WSOP shares must be paid before the tournament starts to earn points for that tournament.
·
A player may pay $10 to make up a missed share for a tournament they played — but all shares must be paid before the 3rd Seat Tournament starts.
·
To be eligible for a payout, a player must have at least 6 shares in the WSOP pool.
·
Players are allowed to enter a WSOP event with a larger buy-in if they wish. Ask for details on how this affects payouts.
If a Player Cashes

Winnings Split

If an SDPT player cashes at a WSOP event, 35% of their winnings are theirs to keep. The remaining 65% is distributed to all WSOP pool participants proportionally — based on the percentage each person paid into the pool.
·
Each participant's share of the 65% is based on their percentage of the total pool. If you paid 5% of the total WSOP pool, you receive 5% of that 65%.
·
If the accrued pool exceeds $4,000 at season's end, a small portion may be used to purchase cards or other supplies for the next season. Any remainder is paid to entry winners to offset WSOP travel costs.
Points System

Earning Points

How Points Are Calculated
·
Overall Champion: A player's year score is calculated by adding their 4 quarter scores. Ties are broken by most wins, then most cashes, then a coin flip.
·
Quarter Champions: A player's quarter score is their 5 best finishes in that quarter (each quarter has 6 tournaments). If the quarter winner has already won a quarter or the overall, the next highest scorer receives the title.
·
Quarter ties are broken by most wins in that quarter, then most cashes, then coin flip.
